From your Worthy Matron:

Greetings to my Sisters and Brothers,

I want to thank those officers who attended the GCI. Hope you enjoyed meeting with your Grand Officers and were able to ask any questions you may have had. Our next meeting will have a Valentine theme.  Come in your red & pink outfits and bring a smile.

I would like to welcome our new affiliates Barbara Holmes, Clara Temple and Marion Armstrong.  Welcome aboard. We are so pleased to have you join us.

March 25th is our annual bazaar, luncheon and fashion show.  Start collecting your things for us for the bazaar.  If you want to help please let Beth Martin know now.  We need everyone's help on this.  The fellowship and fun (and work) makes it all worth while.

March is a busy month.  Our Official Visit from the Grand Family (March 11), Cancer Dressing Breakfast (March 12), County Event (March 18) and then the bazaar.

Lets all work towards getting new members.  Come join us for our next meeting on February 7th.  There will be another drawing.

Here's my prayer for all of you:

I said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard,

I felt the answer in my heart although He spoke no word.

I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind,

I asked him to send treasures, of a far more lasting kind.

I asked that He'd be near you, at the start of each new day,

To grant you health and blessing, and friends to share your way.

I asked for happiness for you, in all things great and small,

But it was for His loving care, I prayed the most of all.

Star Love,

Peggy Parker, Worthy Matron

From your Worthy Patron:

Sisters and Brothers,

We surely hope that your year has started off well and that your new year's resolutions have not been forgotten. If you are like me, I will try again next year.

We had a good time at the GCI and learned a few things and were reminded of others. It went well and was a bit more relaxed and loose than I remember others being. We had the opportunity to meet with our Grand Chapter counterparts and have some good conversations.

Please remember to attend and support our various chapter events and to attend as many of the party nights as you reasonably can. They are always fun and meeting and greeting our sisters and brothers from other chapters. Foremost, however, please do support Estrella Chapter, the best in the state and we want to keep it that way.

Our Official Visit is coming up and I will be available for proficiencies so we will be able to make a good showing then.

Fender skirts and curb feelers???? Wall to wall what???? If you were in Chapter, you know, if not write me. ctandrews@comcast.net

Star Love,

Coren

From the South:

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is looking forward to the new year with great anticipation.  I was checking our calendar and March is a very busy month.   Saturday March 25th is our "Bazaar Luncheon and Fashion Show".   Suzann Wallace will be preparing us a delicious lunch. The "Fashion Show" is being put on by Draper's and Damon's.  Sue Burges, the Assistant Manager, will have lots of beautiful Spring outfits.   Since this is our only big money raiser for the year, we need everyone's assistance to make it a success,  and with the support which you  Estrella members give us, each in your own way as you are able, will make  this happen.  Anything you can do will be appreciated very much.

The following is a list of the tables and chairman  As you can see some are empty.  If you can help please call me.

We need gifts (new) for the Mystery table.  Please bring them to Chapter and I will see that they are wrapped.  If there is something special that you make, candy etc. it would be most welcomed.  I am hoping for gift baskets or special gifts for the Silent Auction table.  We also need crafts, books, white elephant, formals, jewelry and plants.

If you are unable to attend,  a donation would be wonderful and very much  appreciated.  I hope to see you there.   If you need a ride please let the

Worthy Matron know and we will do our best to arrange a ride for you.  On February 14th, at our next Friendship Circle Meeting, we will wrap the utensils, so come join the fun.

Star love,

Beth Martin

From your Associate Patron

In view of the fact that we don't currently have one, I have been working on putting together a Website for Estrella Chapter.  It still has a ways to go, but if you would like to start accessing it, the address is:

http://donaldb.ucsd.edu/~donaldb/estrellachapter/

Once you go there the first time, you can add it to your favorites list and then you won't have to type in the whole thing each time you want to visit.  If you have any questions or comments, you can E-Mail me at donaldb@ucsd.edu .  Keep in mind that it is not a finished product, but at least we have a Website now.  I hope that you all enjoy it and use it periodically.  Thank you.
