I have been in Eastern Star since 1980. I have served as an officer since the day after I was initiated. I have been Ruth, Martha, Adah, Treasurer for 3 years, Warder and Sentinel... It is my hope to earn, somehow, one of those pins for people who have been ALL of the Star Points, but everyone is so pleased with my presentation of Martha, that I never get asked to be anything else.... I lead a double life going from paint spattered grubbies to officer's gowns. My nails are sometimes loaded with etching ink. I have been mistaken for an auto mechanic as a result. I have been married to the same man for 56 years. I am an artist. I have degrees in industrial design, fine and graphic arts, printmaking, photography, jewelry design.... I may have forgotten a few. I have sold paintings and prints and have held some exciting jobs. I assisted in the appraisal of, and catalogued Gov. Rockefeller's art collection. I have been president of two construction companies and worked on the first Guided Missile. We embarked on a Master's Degree in philosophy last year, but I didn't much care for it, so we are on leave for now. Somewhere along the line we also managed to have 3 sons, who turned out fairly well too. |
